Re: Feb 1999 superprep test B, section 2, game 2

What is the fastest time that anyone has completed this problem? I find that this problem takes me a minimum of 7 minutes to set up, and I know that is way too long! I could tell that it was automatically a binary problem, but diagramming the constraints took me forever, and then I ended up with a d...

Q3 - Whenever Joe's car is vacuumed

I know I'm missing something here. I diagrammed the argument in the stimulus as: V → E; E → F; V → F The only option that came close to modeling this form was answer (A): W; D → W; M → D; M The correct answer is (B), but that answer presents a choice between two alternatives. Because the o...

Re: PT 52, S1, Q3 - Whenever Joe's car is vacuumed

Thanks, Noah! I feel infinitely more confident now! I must have looked at that darn question for thirty minutes trying to figure out what I was missing...

Re: Feb 1999 superprep test B, section 2, game 2

Dan, Thanks for the info. I knew immediately that it was a binary game, and I was immediately able to diagram the first two constraints. Once I recognized the third constraint needed to be diagrammed on the side, that significantly reduced some time. However, I kept stumbling over the fourth constra...

Re: Insurance Claim

For any of you who need to take a break from studying, Brad Paisley actually wrote a song based on this event. You can hear it on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoBmCl-q_54.

Enjoy!

I've hit a brick wall... advice?

In the past week, I have taken multiple prep tests, but I can't get my score to budge! I have consistently earned a 165 with one exception, when I got a 173. I rarely ever miss any questions on the Logic Games section, and the questions that I miss on the Logical Reasoning sections are generally ina...

Re: I've hit a brick wall... advice?

Noah, thank you so much for your advice! It was brilliant! I found it slightly more difficult to manage my time, and the ones I tended to miss were because I was feeling pressured to move on. HOWEVER, I got a 172! The time management is something that I think I can work on in the next couple days an...

Q23 - Politician: The current crisis

I think I got this question wrong because I incorrectly diagrammed the last sentence in this paragraph. When reviewing my errors, I got the right answer, but I found the conditional logic in the final sentence to be a little hairy. Would someone let me know if they agree with my logic? I just want t...

Q20 - TV meteorologist: Our station's weather

This is (hopefully) my last question on this test. As much as I hate to admit it, I really struggled with this question. I initially ruled out all of the answer choices, and then went, "Woops. Hm. Something's not right in Hoo-ville..." I re-read the stimulus and questions, and I must be mi...

PT 57, S1, Game 3 - The evil dinosaur game...

This game was pure evil. Or genius. Or both. Nonetheless, i set it up like a binary game but ended up writing almost all of my constraints on the side, so the visual was truly unhelpful. While I was able to deduce all but one of the correct answers for the game, my set up was horrid and the question...

Re: PT 57, S1, Game 3 - The evil dinosaur game...

That was a much prettier diagram than the one I came up with! Thank you! I was initially thrown off by the "in/out" language and immediately started setting it up as a binary game. Only after my failed attempt to diagram the constraints did I set up an alternate ordering scenario on the si...
