Re: PT16, S2, Q21 - Several years ago, as

I have been staring at this question so long my head was starting to hurt...but I finally get it. So.. to my understanding B is incorrect because it only tells us that few other insects besides the gypsy moth are fatally affected by the fungus. It is only telling us about the few other insects and n...

Q16 - Biologists agree that human beings

I was wondering why C was incorrect. The correct answer D says that the proposition is an assumption, but how is this assumed when the stimulus offers two pieces of evidence explaining why this is true?

Q21

Thanks so much! This game is very intimidating and the break down and diagram help a lot. I understand why X must be followed by Z, but I'm not understanding why Z must only occur if preceded by X. Why couldn't X be in year three, and Z in year two for example? I ask because for question 21 I narrow...

Q8

Hello, I was just wondering about the answer to question 8. The answer is E and it makes sense but it threw me off because the answer says that Hopi name perform the same function ascribed to name of European thinkers. However in the 3rd paragraph lines 53- 56 that the main view of Hopi names oppose...

Re: PT17 S1 G2

I went ahead with this game, and I was able to go through the questions. It's a shame I didn't just go for it when I was doing my pacing exercise because it's not a bad game at all. The rule just seemed way too simple, and I second guessed my understanding:x

Re: PT16, S2, Q16 - Researchers in South Australia estimate

Ookaayy!! So essentially... if your are getting better at doing something (ie. catching sharks) and the amount you catch is the same, then you should be questioning if the amount there is to catch has changed!!!

I am up to speed.

Thank-you!

PT17, S1, G2 - Policy, Quality, and Sales Committees

Could someone break down this game for me please? I used this section to practice my pacing and when I ran across this game I ended up skipping it altogether because the third rule really threw me off. It says All Three officers must be assigned to the Policy Committee. Really? Does this in fact mea...

Q26

Hello,

I fell for answer B for this question because of line 31 describes the tenacious hold of Dexter's theory. However the answer is A, which is quite the opposite. I am definitely missing something...I'm not seeing exactly where the undermining of Dexter's argument happens.

Q23 - S: People who are old enough

For this question I narrowed the answers down to D and E and thankfully choose D because T argues why people old enough to fight are not necessarily old enough to vote- S's argument relies on the premise that they are. Could someone explain however why E is wrong. I would like to be able to knock it...

Re: PT53, S4, Q23 and 25

Hello. I'm still a bit confused as to why A is the correct answer to Q23. I think what's throwing me off is the way the answer is phrased. It says: in plots inhabited by both T and C the latter would have been effectively controlled. This is what's throwing me off since I thought that either way the...

Re: S1 Q24 coal mined in Country Q

I concluded that the tally T= M (amt mined) - C (amount consumed). For this question the question asks what must be true since T1991 is less than T1990. I thought that this could be the result of M decreasing from 1990 amts or C increasing from 1990 amts or both. The question asks what must be true ...

Re: PT 20 S3 G3 Q 17 A jeweler makes

I'm still having some trouble with this one. The question asks if you have PY_PY_ _ _ _ then what could be true. I know the third must be R. But the rest are a toss up for me. why couldnt you have PYRPYGOGR? The seventh bead is O, the eigth bead is green, and the ninth bead is read (answers A, B, an...

Hello, For this question I eliminated all except D and E...and chose the wrong answer E. I don't understand why E is incorrect if one has _ _ _ O (O is the fourth bead. Why couldn't we have _ Y P O. R would have to go in position 1 which is blank, and positions 5 thru 8 could be an assortment of col...

Re: Q1 - A distinguished British judge, Justice

I set up the question the same way you did. But I got C. If judges are not well equipped then there is something wrong. So I said: if -E (not equipped) then W(something is wrong with the legal system). So we have the following condition: if -E then W The contrapositive is if -W then E. If something ...

PT39, S2, Q17 - Columnist: Over the last 20 years the demand

Hi, I was able to narrow down between B and D, but unfortunately I choose D. I was thinking that if Japanese consumers still did not want a similar North American car with left-side steering then this would completely undermine the argument, becuase even if they did what the columnist recommended it...

Q21 - Cognitive Psychologist: The majority of

For this question I choose answer C. I'm figuring that this is true but not necessary for the conclusion to be drawn.

E is the correct answer but I'm not making the connection as to how it leads me to draw the conclusion. I know this is a formal logic question, but this one is not connecting for me.
