Re: Q21 - A good way to get over

I think D goes beyond the scope of the problem. Why are people necessarily better off they did not do things that terrify them? Maybe doing terrifying things is a way to grow, and people need that. Choice D also doesn't take into account the last sentence of the problem, that less people who've para...

Re: Q24 - Columnist: The amount of acidic

I too had some trouble with C, but here's my reasoning for it, if any LSAT geek can confirm/check this reasoning, I'd greatly appreciate it! :D The stimulus is saying that the amount of acidic pollutants released into the air has decreased over the LAST SEVERAL DECADES, therefore we can EXPECT an ov...

Re: Q26

I was also stuck between A and E when doing this question, but here's my take A - lines 40-45 explains that the "significant use" of resources and facilities is the problem because it's so vague, but it never says that it's difficult to distinguish between nonuniversity resources and unive...

I have the same question as the poster above, if any LSAT geek would clarify, that would be awesome.

Re: Q18 - If there are sentient beings

Can someone please expand on why exactly C is incorrect? Is C restating a premise? We're already told that "we won't be able to send spacecraft to planets outside our solar systems anytime in the near future" so is C just saying the same thing? When I negate it, "Even if there is a s...

Re: Q13 - Many symptoms of mental illness

Just to add a bit more to the previous explanations;

B) If assumed, it proves that the conclusion itself is true but doesn't prove that the premise proves that the conclusion is true. It doesn't provide any link between the premise and the conclusion.

Re: Q13 - Psychologist: Idential twins are virtually

Can any geek answer this? I don't see how D weakens the argument after reading these explanations. The only reason is that I was able to eliminate the rest of them. the conclusion is that : MANY of our inclinations are genetic, and not due to environmental influences. premise: identical twins that ...

Re: Q21 - Safety consultant: Judged by the

I am still confused... Please help!! According to above posts, it seems that B and C are wrong due to same substantive reason. Here is my reasoning why B and C might be right. Here are facts: 1) Minivans are the safest based on "number of injury" test 2) However, it's not inherently safer...

Q7

I chose E for this question because I thought that the research discussed in line 20 could also be the "literature on purple loosestrife control," but would this answer be wrong because the purple loosestrife literature discussed in B doesn't explicitly mention that it's on the control of ...

Re: PT 55, S2, Q6 - Court Injunctions

A couple quick points here. Let's look at answer choice (A). It says that the injunctions limit an employee's chance of being hired. The passage however states that such measures help generate barriers to full and free utilization of abilities in the employee's new station. There's a difference sin...

Re: Q12 - People who say that Dooney County

I guess this is a really late reply, but I'm stuck on this question while working out my LSATs too. The way I thought about it is that say for example the question did depend on the assumption of A, that the only cause of soil erosion is water, that means that farmers whose land is flat do not suffe...

Re: Q22

I had a problem with D for the same reason but, upon closer reading of the passage, it indicates that A is the owner and the author, according to the telephone analogy where A is the one who left the outgoing message, A is the author as well as the owner, so I think they want us to see the two as in...

Re: Q22

The reason that I crossed out C was because I thought the in spite of surface appearances to the contrary part was a bit fishy, and I don't see it actually mentioned anywhere in the first paragraph. Lines 10-12 say that possible outcome perceived as loss motivates more strongly than the prospect of ...

Re: Q18

The reason that E is unsupported in the passage is that, the bacterium is growing and multiplying indefinitely without walls, and it's an inheritance of acquired characteristics. But, in this case, the bacteria is only one bacteria, to make the example a little clearer, pretend that the bacteria is ...

Adding in my two cents, The question was confusing to me because it took me a while just to established what biologists did believe, and that was in lines 6-12, that "environmentally induced adaptations seem plausible but inheritance of acquired characteristics never occurs," the acquired ...

How to study efficiently?

I'm currently feeling slightly burned out, as for the past two weeks I've been doing one preptest a day, but I haven't been doing them in one sitting, so it was like Section 1 & 2 in the mornings, Section 3 in the afternoon and Section 4 at night. I've been timing them and I'm usually just a cou...

Re: Q11

When I first approached the question, I crossed out all the answers because none of them seemed particularly strong for me. After looking at the passage again, B is indeed a better choice, (although I still dislike this question). Here was my reasoning for crossing out A: The passage doesn't say any...

Re: Q22 - Some types of organisms originated through endosymbios

Going to take a whack at answering your question, In the text, it says that "...has been discovered with in a plant KNOWN as a chlorarachniophyte..." and when they say known as, it identifies the species of the plant, so let's replace chlorarachinophyte with daisies, then by definition, th...

Re: Q19

I'll offer my take on the choices on this question, Choice B is almost a direct paraphrase of lines 11-15. The "far-reaching idea" is against the second part of CLS, that the choice between conflicting answers must necessarily be arbitrary or irrational, rather than that there is no unique...

Re: Q24 - We ought to pay attention

Since we should pay attention to only the intrinsic properties of a work of art, the extrinsic properties are irrelevant... and the sentence later in the paragraph states that what a painting symbolizes is not aesthetically relevant, the diagram should concern with what is extrinsic. I mean, I guess...
