Please clarify!

That's correct. Placing the modifier "for..." at the end of the second comparison makes it sound like we are comparing "an understanding of cultural norms" vs "grasping the pivotal business issues for the global manager"

Hi Ron,

I still did not understand why A is wrong? :(
Can you please explain again?

Is it wrong because of misplaced modifier?
That is, when working with overseas client should modify the global manager which is placed at the end of the sentence?

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

there are two very basic errors in choice A.

• NON-PARALLELISM—literally the most fundamental error in all of SC. you should see parallelism issues FIRST, when they are present. if you don't, you need to realign your priorities.
this choice says
...an understanding of xxxx... is at least as important as grasping yyyy...
...nope.
if the first part is "an understanding", the second part should be "a grasp".
if the second part is "grasping", the first part should be "understanding".

• OPENING MODIFIER—"When working with overseas clients"
this describes what global managers do, so it MUST be followed by "the global manager" or "global managers".
...but it isn't.
