Re: Q15 - During the recent economic downturn,

The argument seems simple: Tighter standards are correlated with less lending. Therefore, relaxed standard are correlated with more lending. I want to follow on secretad22's point. The conclusion can still follow even if (A) is negated - that is, even if there is a significant decrease in the total...

Re: Q14 - Overexposure to certain wavelengths

I also found D tempting, because it provides alternative causes that can cause melanoma. So even if you put on sunblock, there's possibility that you will still get melanoma. Don't we use alternative explanation to weaken an argument? Answer choice (D) actually does not provide an alternative cause...

Re: Q5 - Medical specialists report that

"Yet the specialists state that drugs are a necessary part of the treatment of all patients who receive them for back muscle injuries." Reading Mike Kim's explanation, I'm convinced of the answer choice B. However, I wanted to point out that the wording of the last sentence seemed a bit co...

Re: Diagram

I took a "freestyle" approach to this game and hopefully this might help someone who wants to see the game solved in a different way since this is a hybrid game after all. The major step that I took was to set up the five musical pieces in a category so I can tell which pieces can go with ...

Re: Q16 - Engineer: Thermophotovoltaic generators are devices

This was a tough question for me primarily because of the latter portion of the answer choice C: sufficient to cover the cost of purchasing and installing those generators." When I initially saw this choice, I thought to myself, why would that be necessary? What does the initial cost of purchas...

Re: Q15 - Often a type of organ or body

(C) is tempting - it's about the animals adapting, however it does not connect to the idea of the species evolving the same (or similar) adaptations. I believe that C was wrong not because it didnt tie them together, since i think it does connect them: ....as organisms have fundamentally similar ne...

Re: Q21 - Each of the candidates in

Re: Q9 - In one study of a particular

As far as answer C goes, I'd also like to add that it doesn't resolve the discrepancy seeing as the first study accounted for higher % of x, while the second study accounted for a lesser %. The answer choice states that the second study, the study with a lower %, had more individual plants. Upon clo...

Re: Q22

The only reason why I crossed out C was because of lines 38-40. I thought the second paragraph addressed the issue of CO2 on plant growth, and the third paragraph was addressing CO2 on global warming. I do realize that the research itself encompasses all three aspects (CO2, plant, global warming), b...

Q2

Upon reviewing, I'm still having trouble seeing how choice A is better than C. Granted, I don't think C is a perfect answer in itself, but how does "the total value of goods produced yearly in a nation by its population" equate to "the overall quality of life."? Help would be muc...

Re: Q13 - Carl's Coffee Emporium stocks only

What threw me off in answer choice D was the added condition, "when another job is available," whereas in the original stimulus, the other choice is eliminated in a much more absolute manner, "was far too smooth and mellow to have been French Roast." I was hesitant to choose this...

Re: Q7 - Politician: Unless our nation

Redistribution of wealth is necessary to alleviate econ. injustice, but choice E states that such redistribution is suffic...

titanium has been found in two old works -- the Bible by Gutenberg, and another older Bible named B36. THEREFORE Vinland Map, which has titanium, may be from 15th century. How is the evidence meant to connect to the conclusion here? The author is assuming that the titanium found in those two works ...

Re: Q3 - Statistics from the national

I ended up with choice A and E and wrongly chose the latter. Is the answer choice E wrong mainly because it's speaking of customers overseas? or also because "profits" can't be assumed to be substantial?

Re: Q7 - Currently, the city of Grimchester is liable

In order for governments to be liable for injuries, the principle states two necessary conditions: they knew about the danger beforehand [b]and[b]negligently failed to eliminate it. The correct answer choice, therefore, would describe an injury for which the government would not be held liable. Henc...
