Re: Q17 - A saftey report indicates that...

Thanks for bringing this question to the forum! We're asked to resolve an apparent discrepancy. What is this discrepancy? 1. traffic fatalities typically decline by around 7 percent when city's pass strict laws on wearing seat belts. 2. in a certain city that has passed strict laws on seat belts, t...

Re: Q22 - If violations of any of society's explicit

I understand the flaw but I'm still confused by the wording of the answer choice. Where does the second half of the answer choice("with sometimes not punishing violations of the rule") fit in?

Re: Q17 - People who have never been asked to do more

I'm a bit perplexed by choice (D). I understand that closed plane, bounded -> polygon, but wouldn't the opposite be held true as well? Polygon -> close plane, bounded.... so is the condition of having closed plane, bounded both necessary and sufficient in this case?

Re: Q15 - People who have doctorates...

(B) would be a necessary assumption, but not a sufficient assumption of this argument, right? Edit: actually it wouldnt right since there is a subtle scope shift( do not care about money vs does not caring about MAKING money in business world) and (interested in liberal arts vs DOCTORATES in liberal...

Q13 - Suffering from a kidney failure

While I understand the general gist of the answer, I'm a bit confused as to why the stimulus mentions the father's belief were mistaken. I thought it might have played a role in the principle, but the principle doesn't really talk about how you should follow someones beliefs, despite their accuracy....

Re: Q24

Is there a quicker way to solve this? Quite often you can use the rules and inferences to see what must be false, but this question seems really open ended. Just wanted to make sure I'm approaching it correctly by plugging and chugging. On that note, when is it best to "plug and chug" rath...

Re: Q13 - Jenkins: Research on the properties...

I'm still not clear on how you can infer (E). Just because he thinks that they should go in Jan/Feb doesn't mean he thinks it outweighs, let alone considers, other factors.

Re: Q21 - Some educators claim

According to the second sentence, which is the perspective of "these educators," it's best to tackle a few examples very well and then let the students expand the breadth of the investigation on their own. I don't quite understand how you got here from the second sentence, which seems to ...

Re: Q20 - Sociologist: Climate and geology determine

I was a bit confused by the usage of only. A part of me thought that it would constitute as a scope shift. How can we properly infer that the population remains settled ONLY if its fairly stable. Is it because if its a drastic shift, they ALWAYS move? Is it is because of that word we can use such ce...

Re: Q10 - Bernard: For which language, and thus...

I'm still a bit confused as to the difference between "what" and "why" in (A) and (B). Can anyone explain why that is significant? Doesn't (B) explain why this design has persisted, despite the fact the limitations have vanished? They have persisted due to the fact standard keybo...

Unsure exactly (A) is an assumption. Isn't it already explicitly stated between Line 8-15?

I'm confused as to how (A) is referring to the wrong group. Doesn't it say that evolutionary biologists created the notion.. that is "the engine of biological history"?

Can you give an example of option (A) in an argument, just so I can see how it differs from option (B)? I'm getting confused in the difference

Q21 - Attacks on an opponent's character

Slightly puzzled by this question. What does the answer choice (C) actually mean? Confused by the "do not confront EVERY argument" bit.

Re: Q20 - It is wrong to think that the same

I'm getting confused as well here. Wouldn't Dana disagree with (E) and say no, it should ALWAYS be desirable. Or is that a small issue since in the greater scheme she clearly does agree with that viewpoint?

Q13 - Studies have shown that, contrary

Confused between (B) and (C). They both seem pretty irrelevant. Although I thought (B) was more off-base.

Q14 - The plant manager's argument is most

Can anyone explain why (A) is the correct choice? I thought that since the conclusion deals with both costs and profits(net effect), whereas the evidence only deals with costs(some of the factors), the answer makes sense. But I just wanted to confirm if this line of reasoning is correct.

Q15

What is the quickest/most efficient way to tackle this question? Just try and see which pairs could be on Tuesday? (none could be on Wednesday since all options contain hotels)
