Q15

I understand that A B C E are all incorrect. But how can author's attitude be revealed in "extremism." The author says that " it is an easy step from their views to the extremism," implying that although the thesis is close to extremism, but is actually not. Can any one help me w...

Re: Q21 - cold suffer method of reasoning

I can see why A is correct. But it is just hard to understand because the bizarre structure of the sentence ("it would if true have consequences that are false").

What exactly is it saying?

Re: Q10 - All material bodies are divisible into parts, and ever

Hi, I have read a lot of your explanations and thanks so much! You've mentioned sufficient and necessary assumptions several times and can you elaborate on their differences a little bit more? I would really appreciate that! It's not necessary, no. This question is not asking for a necessary assumpt...

Re: Q13 - Numismatist: In medieval Spain, most

I think the passage never says the coins are of the same weight, so A is not supported.

Re: Q10 - All material bodies are divisible into parts, and ever

Thanks for your reply! I understand sufficient and necessary conditions, for sure. But how are they related to finding assumptions. Can you give me an example of sufficient assumption and an example of necessary assumption in an argument? Still a little bit confused. And, I have practiced about 20 t...

Re: Q13 - In medieval Spain, most gold coins

Hi Noah, thanks a lot for your explanations in LR section. They really help! Can you share some general strategies to improve logical reasoning? I have done about 30 practices tests and usually got 4 wrong in each section. Since I am aiming at 170, I want to keep each LR section under 2 wrong. Still...

Re: Q20 - If the economy is weak

Still a little bit confused about the inferences here. So "If A then B although C" can be expressed as A-->B A-->C Are those correct? In another You got it. All of your statements and inferences from them are correct. The "although" functions like an and. Other words that d...

Re: Q24

I got this wrong either. :( I could not find where the passage explicitly says that objectivism is faulty. But the entire second paragraph seems to elaborates on why objectivism is not desirable from a subjectivist's point of view. And from "knowledge, they argue, relies on the data of experien...

Re: Q21

I spent long time on this question in my simulated test and finally choose D. I would say it is correct because norm concerning arranged marriage (in my conception) is gender-related. And between D and E, the answer choices with a "persecution" (as the passage it is the linchpin of the def...

Re: Q20 - polling data reveal

I agree with previous discussion.. BUT I think both the stimulus and answer (D) commit the same flaw. The stimulus generalize from 9 year old children to the whole population and similarly, men are also not representative of the population (Women generally has longer life span than men so even there...
