Re: PT16, S2, Q21 - Several years ago, as

I don't think that B is necessarily irrelevant. Consider the following: We want to strengthen the causal conclusion that the decline is the effect of the fungus use and nothing else. A way a causal relationship can be strengthened is by eliminating potential alternative causes, as you noted above. I...

Q4 - Political opinion and analysis

This question is an assumption question, and a necessary one at that. That it, an answer choice that is sufficiently correct would thus be incorrect. The term of interest in answering this question is "outside the mainstream", the correct answer choice, B, mentions "controversial and ...

Q3 - Physical education should teach

An inference question w/o an argument, fine. The correct answer, A, that physical education should include noncompetitive activities doesn't seem to be necessarily required. A false dichotomy is assumed here, and I take protest with this question! What is to say that noncompetitive activities would ...

Re: PT15, S3, Q8 - Delta green ground beetles

So, why don't you feel like the premise is relevant? We know that delta ground beetles remain motionless unless it rains. We are concluding about being able to see delta ground beetles. Why wouldn't the beetles being in motion be relevant to helping us see them? Okay, I see it now. The premise and ...

Re: PT15, S3, Q8 - Delta green ground beetles

We're asked to strengthen the conclusion drawn in the argument. The conclusion reached is that the drop in observed delta green ground beetles is not the result in an overall drop in delta beetle population. The evidence for this is that the beetles remain motionless unless it rains, and in 1985 it...

Q23 - Asbestos, an almost indestructible

My concerns about this question more center around how an answer choice functions to strengthen something in an argument. Question be could strengthen the argument, though not necessarily, individuals could wear masks and the harm would be averted. I know E is right, I just can't fully explain why B...

Q7 - Workers may complain about

I despise this question. Conclusion: assumption that job-related stress is most serious problem is not warranted. Premise: Stress not high on list. Premise: Survey places boredom at top. B is the correct answer, but I have objections to it. Having stress related symptoms doesn't mean that you necess...

Q8 - Because learned patterns of behavior

I was stuck between C and E on this one. My argument for C as the correct answer was that there were potentially for possible arrangements and that this could be, though not necessarily, dangerous or inefficient. B/c we don't know if this is necessarily dangerous or inefficient we can't make the ass...

PT16, S2, Q1 - The city's center for disease

The correct answer is B, yet I don't necessarily see how it resolves the fact set. Knowing that a significant proportion of the population succumbed to rabies two years ago tells me what relative to the 32 cases 2 years ago and that 25% of population was infected. I know this should be an easy quest...
