Rule substitution

by olaizola.mariana Fri Sep 18, 2015 8:36 am

I am having trouble with questions that ask: "Which of the following, if substituted for the condition that ... would have the same effect." Of all the LG questions, these are the only ones I keep missing.

Are there any tips for how best to tackle them?

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Hey Mariana,

Sadly, it's impossible to lay down strong rules for any given question type (though our books do the best they can). I would recommend continuing to post any individual questions that give you trouble, along with the answer choices that tempt you, and then try to work it out what it is about them that's giving you trouble. Remember, all LR effectively tests the same thing, so it isn't as if the categories are all that different.
