Q5 - Principles: A law whose purpose

by daijob Sat Aug 22, 2015 7:50 pm

Is D wrong because it compares to others and even it is less compared to others if it is threatened the application would not be justified?

Thank you

Here's a complete explanation.

Question: Principle Support

Task: figure out what gap exists between the principle and its application. Then pick an answer that best fills that gap.

Principle for laws designed to protect wild animal populations:
If an action violates law but doesn't threaten animal population -> don't enforce law

Application:
Don't enforce the law against these snake charmers.
Why?
I don't know ...

Evaluating the gap:
We need to hear a fact about our SNAKE CHARMERS that activates the trigger "doesn't threaten animal population", so that we can properly conclude DON'T ENFORCE law against snake charmers.

=== answer choices ===
(looking for trigger: "doesn't threaten animal population"

(A) looks good

(B) no match for trigger

(C) no match for trigger

(D) "less threatened" is bad match for "doesn't threaten"

(E) no match for trigger

(A) is the correct answer.
