Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So because we are not told the placement (opening or closing) of Richardson or Veracruz, is this why we cannot determine the placement of any other students except for Little and Saito?

In a different scenario, if we were told that Richardson or Veracruz had either an opening or closing argument, would we then be able to determine every student's placement?

Thank you!

That is correct. We would be able to determine every student's placement with more information such as R doing the opening while being on the same team as V.

Without that extra information though, we are left with only knowing the exact placement of 2.
