Q25 - For someone who interprets

by cyruswhittaker Wed Sep 08, 2010 12:36 am

Could you explain question 25? I'm having trouble figuring out why B most effectively counters the objection.

First off, we've got to get the question straight!

So, on behalf of someone who says the lines are astronomical, we want to counter (weaken) the claim that that the straight lines and the bird lines suggests have unrelated uses. Whew!

What, strategically, would do accomplish this for us? Probably a few things, but the most obvious would be evidence that the lines have related uses, especially related "astronomical" purposes.

Now for the argument:

(A) some North Americans used stones to mark sunlight? Nope.
(B) Bingo! The straight lines point to astronomical events, the bird lines represent a constellation. That's exactly what we want -- related astronomical purposes.
(C) nope. Nothing about the bird lines.
(D) So what? Doesn't help us out with explaining these lines.
(E) Mentions both lines, but doesn't mention purpose.
