Q19

by jgutella Mon May 19, 2014 5:29 pm

I have a question as to why answer choice B is not the correct answers.

On lines 30-34, the author states that "the CEO (of a non charitable organization) SHOULD still work to maximize profits, because that will turn out best..."

Answer choice B says SHOULD make decisions; whereas A says are OBLIGATED. The economists' clearly state that they believe these CEO's should maximize profits, the economists don't make a claim as to whether or not it is obligatory.

Any help?

The problem with (A) isn't obligated, I think that's actually fine, it's that it's about charitable organizations!

(B) is correct for the reasons you state. (C)-(E) aren't supported.

Why is D incorrect? It is because it talks about what a CEO's actions/decisions will do as opposed to what type of decisions they should make?
