Since this is "according to the passage EXCEPT", four of these answers ARE mentioned in the passage and the one correct answer is NOT mentioned in the passage.
They kinda give us a freebie with the correct answer (A), since hunger is just never mentioned in the passage.
Thank goodness, since the topic of blood-plasma osmolality is NOT a fun one (as further evidence that osmolality is obscure, my spell-check doesn't even think that it's a word!)
The idea of osmolality is that the body is trying to keep its relative level of water/solutes pretty constant. The body tries to protect against too much / too little water and against too much / too little solutes.
The main point of the passage is that the body has some physiological tools to regulate osmolality (hormones) and some behavioral ones (thirst/urination).
Here are the supporting lines for the other four answers:
(B) 42-44
(C) 44-47
(D) 37-39
(E) 17-20 and 44-46
We shouldn't be surprised that all those line references come from the 2nd paragraph, because the topic sentence of that paragraph clues us in that "osmoregulation" will be discussed.
Let me know if any questions remain.
