Question 19 & Set-up October 2002 Sales Game

by isoffan21 Mon Jan 31, 2011 11:15 am

Hello. Can someone please explain why we can make the inference
W production--->X sales ? I know we are given the rule: X sales---> W production; however, why cannot X management and W production. This inference affects question 19. I could not eliminate answer choice B on Question 18 because of it. I am confused because W production--> X sales is not the contrapositive of X sales--> W Production given that this is not a two value system. There is a third value, management! Please explain!

Thanks!

Whoa, whoa! Who told you we could infer W production --> X sales? You're absolutely right that we can't infer that!

Question 19 doesn't have anything to do with that phantom inference.

(A) puts F in the wrong place.
(B) and (D) put G with F in production, which isn't allowed.
(E) forces four things into production (because HY have to be together), when there's only room for three.

(C) is the only option that works.

On question 18, we can eliminate (B) because that would force X, H, Y, and F into production. Not enough room!

Does that answer your question? Panic not! You were right all along!
