Q18

by disguise_sky Fri Jun 27, 2014 5:01 am

I have some problem with option B) and C) of Q18.
I think B) is wrong because the new theory is based on new research instead of old evidence (am I right?) but I do not know what "a particular class of cases" in C) refers to.
Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.

(B) is wrong because it's different evidence, good!
(C) refers to cases in which the old research doesn't apply, like the performers discussed in lines 27-30, lines 36-40, and lines 60-end.

As for the others:

(A) problematic? No.
(D) it's not reinterpretation of old data (like (A))
(E) is way off"”nope, nope, nope!

Hope this clears it up.

I initially eliminated (C) because of " to a particular class of cases".

Is (C) still correct because in the line 24, the passage mentioned 'in different domains'?

Can anybody confirm my understanding?

Yes, the different domains mentioned are the classes of cases discussed in the lines I referenced above.
