Question Type: Identification (11-22, 39-50; 14-16, 41-42)

This question refers to "the prevailing view regarding dental caries and carbohydrate consumption." Our first task, then, must be to determine what that prevailing view is. We find that in the second paragraph of each passage. More specifically, each passage mentions non-agricultural people and the fact that they are less likely to develop caries as a result of their limited carbohydrate consumption. Thus, (B) must be correct.

(A) is a half scope answer. Only Passage A mentions highly processed foods.
(C) is another half scope answer. It is mentioned in Passage B but not Passage A.
(D) is never explicitly stated in either passage, although it is implied in Passage B.
(E) is out of scope. The passage isn’t about overall health.
