Q15

by Cbarrow1644 Wed Sep 16, 2015 5:42 pm

This question is if Fransisco sits in chair 2 and Olivia sit next to Simone, Gabrielle must sit next to which person?

Why isn't the answer Olivia? I understand that G must sit in seat 6 between P and O. And I chose answer B. Thanks!

I had the same issue.

I got S F K R L P G O
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

I don't see why I cannot select (B) or (E), buy maybe I overlooked something and would appreciate some help.

This is what the question stem gives us

S F __ R __ __ __ O

In spot 3, we can put
K, L, or P

In spot 5, we can put
K, L, or G

Nothing is really forced on us, it seems, so I would start making SOME legal scenario and then see what I can get rid of.

Since the last two posters were concerned about eliminating (B), let's purposefully try to write a scenario where O and G are not next to each other.

S F L R G P K O

It looks like that's legal! Apparently, G doesn't HAVE to sit next to anyone besides R or P, according to this.

We could eliminate A/B/C with this scenario.

The scenario the last poster provided,
S F K R L P G O
proves that G doesn't HAVE to sit next to R, so we could also eliminate (D).
