Not sure why the answer is E. The reading passage was extremely complex for me. Come someone explain this. Thank you!

Thanks for your post, u.khalid29. This is an identification question, so the right answer will be something that is explicitly or almost explicitly stated in the passage. In this case, we’re looking for something about “the traditional scientific approach to nature.” The beginning of the second paragraph discusses this. According to the passage, there is a traditional disjuncture (or divide) between the scientist and nature (lines 12-15). This is almost exactly what (E) says. (E) is supported.

(A) Offers an unwarranted comparison. Scientists traditionally tamed or preserved nature, but the passage does not indicate which course the scientists preferred.

(B) Is contradicted. Haraway does this, not traditional scientists.

(C) Incorrectly compares primates to other forms of natural life.

(D) Is out of scope. The passage doesn’t discuss government officials.
