Q11

ok so for this question we are going to have to be cognizant of the general purposes of each passage and their tone/authors opinion.

We are going to have to work wrong to right.
my prephase: passage A appears to be general, author isn't advocating anything, just discovering something new. Primarily descriptive. Passage B on the other hand has a clear cut argument. It appears more technical and the author states his opinion in the 3rd paragraph lines 44-51. Also the last paragraph contains authors opinion as well.

based on those lines we can infer that passage B may have to do with law or tax or business, whereas A is just more general, introductory, for any type of reader.

So, with that prephase we hit the answer choices and work wrong to right.

A- looks good. matches prephase pretty well but lets look at the other choices
B - no A isn't a technical journal. B doesn't appear to be directed to a general audience. Eliminate
C - A isn't a science fiction novel. No indication, eliminate.
D - Passage A isn't a journal article, too broad to be one. The primary problem here... is that B is not a speech. it is stated unequivocally that is it an article.
E - A isn't a speech. its general. nothing legislative about it.
B is for sure not a science fiction novel.

A is the best of the bunch and matches my prephase.
