Q11

by junggyuhan Sat May 25, 2013 8:59 pm

Anyone could help me out on this problem?

I don't understand why the answer is B not A.

I thought "J,P,N" could be among the three most popular, so I chose A. Did I misunderstand the problem? ....Thx

I think you understood it correctly --- you thought it was asking, "How many of these letters could ever be Top 3?"

In addition to J, L, and P, we could also see N be Top 3.
for example,
L P N J O K M
is legal

So there are four possible letters who could be Top 3.

What did your tree look like? (Unfortunately, it's hard to draw a Relative Ordering Tree in this typing environment, so all the extra "...." are just to space things out) You should have had something like:

......J
....... \
L - P - O - K - M
........\ .
..........N

Let me know if you still have questions about this.
