Yes, you're exactly right. On Inference questions (which test us our ability to accurately answer the question, "Did the paragraph commit itself to this idea?"), we need to be really wary about extreme language in the answer choices.
"Physically IMPOSSIBLE for ANY human to live longer than 124" is stronger than "the limit is PROBABLY between 113 and 124".
Maybe we should also ask ourselves whether "findings derived through use of EVT" is a good match for "the curves EVT generates", but I think that's a pretty safe match.
Similarly, the other wrong answers go overboard:
(A) "in general" is too strong and sweeping
(D) there is "NO point" is too strong and sweeping
(E) "should eventually be REPLACED" is too strong and sweeping
