Q10

by MeghanC389 Tue Nov 14, 2017 1:28 pm

Hi MH Prep team,

Can someone please provide an explanation for #10? I re-did this LG set recently and this problem took me a while.

From what I understand now, QG isn't necessarily a chunk, Q is only before G when G is offered. So Q can be offered twice, but one of the times has to be right before G, which is only offered once. Just want to make sure I understand this one correctly.

Thanks!!

I would definitely frame the QG chunk during the setup of this game, since it could only go on Mon/Tues or Tues/Wed.

So we have

frame 1
Q G __ P __ __

frame 2
__ Q G P __ __

We still have to place L and N, and we still need a duplicate (either P, Q, or L, since G and N only go once)

Q10
(A) mbf - G has to be 2 or 3

(B) mbf - Tues has to be G or Q

(C) mbf - P is on Thurs, and if we put it again on Wed in frame 1, we'd have the duplicate going on consecutive days

(D) mbf - G has to be 2 or 3

(E) sure, in either frame that could work

In terms of rule interpretation, we are told in rule 3 that G will be offered once.
Rule 4 says that Q is the special the day before G appears.

So we know when we get our one G, we will put a Q the day before it.

Q, L, and P are still eligible to go twice, since rule 3 didn't preclude them from doing so, and rule 4 didn't say that "when we use a Q, we have to use a G after it"

Hope this helps
