Q1

by Super Saiyan Mon Aug 15, 2016 10:26 pm

Hi,

I chose B, and crossed out C, D, and E. When i read the passage i felt that the 1st part of (B) sounded correct. However, now that i look back, (B) is wrong b/c there isn't any mention of "citizens speech and financial transactions". Also, why is A correct.

Thank you

An important step towards success in Reading Comprehension is to identify the author's thesis. In this passage the author's thesis is located in lines 4-9 and is restated in an answer choice (A).

Incorrect Answers
(B) is contradicted. The passage indicates challenges to the power of national governments, it does not suggest that the power of national governments to control their citizens' speech is promoted.
(C) is narrow scope. While this point is made in the passage, it is not the main point.
(D) is out of scope. The passage does not mention an increase in the volume and severity of global crime.
(E) is out of scope. The passage does not mention a threat to the internal political stability of many nations.
