Passage Discussion

It was difficult for me to understand this passage, because this wasn't sole about science but combined with history. Took me a bit longer to understand the passage completely.

Here is the analysis.

P1: Recent historians of science explains acceptance of the traditional scientific view as ideological bias - Pasteur example - but that is an overstatement.
P2: Shouldn’t just reject traditional views - two examples of water and genetic composition of a baby.
P3: But there is an valid point in recent historians' point with the need for verification on traditional views, and persuasiveness of the historians' argument could be accepted as social activities
P4: What historians should do is to show how those traditional views could fit reality.

Overall: Rejecting traditional scientific views as influenced by other stereotypes all completely is overstating even if it’s plausible in some ways; they should try to find a way to fit the theory into reality.
