Diagramming

by stol1989 Sun Oct 20, 2013 2:39 pm

Is it possible to diagram following statement?
It is mistake to conclude that A-->B.
If it is mistake to conclude that B is necessary for A then B is not necessary for A. But if B is not necessary do we know
that A-->~B? It seems to me that in this case B is kind of floater that is not linked with A. So I can suggest A-->? that doesn't make much sense  .
Thank you!

Hey Stol,

Remember, you can't diagram statements that aren't definitive causal statements (anything with "maybes" and "sometimes"). This is the equivalent of that. They are saying we don't know if A causes B. There's no way to diagram that, and you shouldn't even bother.

Hope that helps!
