by sarahhaque Sat Aug 07, 2010 7:16 pm

Hey,

Could someone please explain how to do this game? I was completely lost! Also, what kind of game would you categorize this as, advanced assignment?

Thanks!

This is a good example of how the process of elimination can sometimes take over assignment games to help you make deductions. This is a Closed Assignment game. If you need help with any of the questions, feel free to ask!

i thought this might a 3D numbered ordering game with Lecture as one row and Speaker as another row with weeks 1-5 at the bottom.

I could see this game described as a Numbered Ordering game, but not 3D since there are no speakers to keep track of. But the way game operates reminds me very much of some other games which are definitely Closed Assignment games. Take a look at the following games to see the similarities.

PT17, S1, G3 - Wendy and Vladimir
PT14, S1, G4 - Nicki and Otto

Even though both of these games have multiple rows, both games work by naming what can go where and then operates through the process of elimination.

thanks. this game is exactly like those 2 games. i see why they are better classified as assignment games than ordering games.

i the first rule is "the first week's speaker specializes in Kant, Locke, and Mill and no other philosophers" how are you able to cross them off in that diagram?
