The question goes as follows:

Lawyers typically have a strong understanding of legal theory, and no law firm will hire a lawyer who does not.

Answer Choices are:

Correct: There is not one law firm that will hire a lawyer with a weak understanding of legal theory.

Incorrect: If Stanley has a weak understanding of legal theory, he will not be hired by a law firm.

I am confused why it would be the first one. If anything, they seem to be saying the same thing. I don't know why the first is a better answer than the other.

Thanks!

The answer to this one is in the details.
"no law firm will hire a lawyer who does not."

Incorrect: If Stanley has a weak understanding of legal theory, he will not be hired by a law firm.

The stimulus doesn't tell us the law firm wont hire anyone who doesnt have strong understanding of legal theory, but rather they wont hire a lawyer who doesn't. Stanley could be a paralegal, secretary, IT guy, etc etc.

Correct: There is not one law firm that will hire a lawyer with a weak understanding of legal theory.

and this is pretty much what the stimulus gives us!
