why Gmat over GRE???

by abhishek.pitti Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:04 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have question for why we should go with GMAT over GRE because premium scools such as Harvard, Stanford etc are accepting GRE scores. I have written GRE also and found that GRE is lot easier compared with GMAT.

So should I Pursue GRE or there is some advantages of GMAT over GRE that i am unaware of???

Please help.

Thank you,

Regards!

You need to check out how many schools ALSO accept GRE. Like you mentioned, a few top schools have started accepting the GRE but a majority of them still accept only the GMAT. Its not about how easy or what your overall score is. Its always about the percentile.

Hello Abhi,

If you plan to apply to schools that accept the GRE, then you do not need to take the GMAT. The reason that most people continue to take the GMAT even though some business schools have begun to accept the GRE is because not all business schools accept the GRE. You may end up having to take two tests if you decide that you want to apply to a business school that requires the GMAT. I recommend carefully reviewing the list of schools that you want to apply to before making the decision about which test to take.

Sincerely,
