Why are the official guide forums locked?

I was just curious why the official guide forums are locked? Is this a paid service?

Sadly, it's a non-service. The makers of the Official Guide (and the official test) decided a while back to invoke their copyright and not let their paid materials be posted anywhere on the web. Our OG forums are from before that time. We left them up for people to browse, but we can't post new ones because of the copyright injunction - so they're frozen in time. :)
