Wall Street crises

by The A-Team Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:44 am

I was wondering if the crises on Wall Street will have an impact on the chances of getting into B-School for 2009 and 2010. I would assume that due to the crises more people will apply. If I do NOT have a finance background how will this affect me? Do all the applicants with finance backgrounds compete with each other or will this lower the chances of acceptance for everybody?

Thanks

Thank you for your inquiry.

The crisis on Wall Street will definitely drive applications higher this year. By next year, with a possible dearth of jobs available to MBAs, some candidates may think twice about applying. Fortunately for you, coming from a non-finance background, you will be in a less competitive pool (there is no quota for bankers but they can’t have a class that is all bankers) and will likely have better employment opportunities available to you, making you a more appealing candidate.
