Waitlist questions

Currently, I am on the waiting lists for Vanderbilt and Carnegie Mellon. I contacted an adcom member at Vanderbilt but she had no feedback to provide. Regarding CMU, they do not have the time to provide feedback but they state in their FAQ that updates about promotions, GMAT scores, and additional information are welcome. I'm planning on retaking the GMAT and I'm trying to time it so that I maximize my study time but ensure that they receive my new score in plenty of time before they have finalized their Round 2 decisions (March 16). Should I call the school and tell them I'm retaking the GMAT ? What is the absolute latest they should receive new information ? One week before ? Two weeks before ?

Education: Double BS in Computer and Electrical Engineering
Work Experience - 5+ years with IT and Engineering companies
Community / Extracurriculurs - Soccer coach, Habitat for Humanity, Various service activities

You don't need to call them - just send them the new score as soon as you can. As for whether it's two weeks before or one week before, just do the best you can to do the re-take sooner than later.
