what's the problem in below sentence:

"Wrong: The guests at the party interacted with THEMSELVES."

In English, 'themselves' is basically the logical plural of 'himself' or 'herself'. Saying 'they interacted with themselves' is the same thing as saying 'each individual guest interacted with himself or herself, rather than with the other guests.' That's not what the sentence is trying to convey.
