They're literally a handful (read: 1-3 individuals) in these extremes at each of these schools per year (i.e. on average 10% of those are over 31 or 32 upon matriculation, and of that 10% virtually everyone except a handful are in their early 30s).
So it's a case-by-case basis. They typically have come from non-traditional career paths (i.e. anything but engineering, banking, consulting, corporate). Think teachers, ministers/clergy, military, pro athletes, public service, etc.
