Unfinished Sections point effect on Real Gmat and MGMAT CAT

by darosenbloom Thu Apr 24, 2014 9:47 pm

Hello,

I was wondering how not getting around to 2 or 3 questions from a section affects your score in both the gmat and cat exams. Something like an estimate of points lost from the overall score or percentile lost. I know its clearly horrible to miss any questions in general. Thanks.

There isn't a set amount because it depends on too many factors, including your scoring level.

As a general rule, though, assume that any unanswered questions will chop an average of 3 percentile points from your score (per question!).

In other words, don't run out of time and leave anything blank. Finish each section, even if you have to guess randomly. :)

Thanks, appreciate the info. Just want to gauge my development on Cats.
