Page 60, Manhattan SC book, 5th Edition:
"Treat any linking verb as a parallel maker. Make the subject and the
object
parallel.
My question:
What does the object mean here? Does it indeed mean '
subject complement'
?

this is not a thing. words like "is" and "are" most certainly do
not
require parallel structures.
e.g.,
This test is challenging.
note that you're using a superannuated edition of the books; i believe this idea has been removed from the current (sixth) edition.
