Thank you for your inquiry.
There are a wide variety of JD/MBA programs out there and thus a wide variety of structures. For example, the Kellogg three year MBA is very rigid and forces the candidate to take a year of law first. Meanwhile, the UVA JD/MBA is a four year program where there is an "either/or" first year option -- one that would allow you to make a choice to enter regardless of whetehr you started in law or business. So, you should be careful to research your program and understand whether they offer flexibility (as UVA does) or not (Kellogg) and to understand other permutations. In many cases, as long as you are in one program, it can be much easier to get into the other from the "inside."

guest Wrote:Hello. I have a question about transferring. At this point in time I'm not sure if i want to get just an MBA or a combined MBA/JD. If i were to apply to MBA programs but after first year decide that I want to pursue a JD as well, is it possible to transfer into that program? Further, if the combined JD/MBA is not offered at the school I am obtaining my business degree in, could i transfer to a different school with the dual program?
thanks for your help!
