Topics and question types tested recently on GMAT

by jbk786 Sat May 04, 2013 3:33 am

Hi All,

First, I would like to thank to all the exceptional instructors of Manhattan GMAT for their guidance and valuable advice on the prep strategy. The support that we novice students get from the MGMAT instructors is a major catalyst for our success.

Second, I have my test impending in three weeks, and I am wondering what are the topics and questions types that are tested recently (last 1-2 months) on the test?

I understand that you guys are very busy, so I appreciate any time you can give in replying to my post.

Best,
JBK

You are very welcome. :)

I can't tell you for the past 1-2 months - but the test doesn't change that frequently anyway.

As a general trend, here are the most frequently tested topics:

Math
Alg: exponents and roots, basic and quadratic eqns
FDP: fractions, percents
NP: divis and primes, odd evens pos neg
WP: stats (especially average), general "story" problems, ratios, rates
Geo: triangles, polygons, circles

SC: modifiers, parallelism, meaning, sentence structure

CR: find assump, strengthen, weaken, inference

RC: specific detail what, specific detail why, and inference

Good luck - let us know how it goes!
