Hi Tony,

Thanks for posting and sharing your story. It was very compelling; you have really overcome a lot and turned things around as you have said.... your drive and determination is very apparent; congrats on what you've achieved thus far.

GMAT-wise it's good that you are working hard and getting help from a tutor which also can be helpful as a tutor can literally see how you approach problems and give you specific advice etc. In terms of being competitive it's ideal to score at or above the average at the school/s you are looking at.

Unfortunately your biggest weakness is likely the undergrad GPA; in terms of how that will be viewed at a specific school for a Masters in Finance, it's tough to say... you may want to look at that specific program's stats and/or speak with someone there. Some b-school applicants with quite low academics will take some courses now and get A's in them to show that they are in a different place now and can indeed handle the academics.
