Could you check your transcription of the problem, please?

You have 1/2^(-x).
If this is actually the correct expression, then the blue thing (reciprocal) and the orange thing (negative power) will undo each other, leaving you with 2^x.

I'm thinking that it should be either ...
... just the blue thing (i.e., 1/(2^x), no negative sign),
or ...
... just the orange thing (i.e., 2^(-x), no reciprocal).

Please confirm, thanks. (If both the reciprocal and the negative sign are there, then that's a typo.)
