Suggestions for college

by banerjee.ankita07 Wed Mar 06, 2013 7:46 am

Hi,

On my first attempt in GMAT I scored 660 and then I retook the exam and scored even less 640.Should I apply with this score to any universities or re take the test. I have 3 years of experience in analytics.

Hi Ankita,

A 660 is not a horrible score to apply with, depending on what kind of program you are looking to attend. If you seek a top 10 or top 20, a 660 is on the low side and it may be in your interest to retake the exam. If you are looking for more of a mid tier program, a 660 may suffice. It depends on your goals.

It also depends on what you think you are capable of - do you think you can improve your score by at least 20 points? I'd say the difference between a 660 and 680 is significant. Or, could you improve by 40 point and hit that 700 mark? If you're not confident in you ability to improve your score, it might be better to spend your time elsewhere on the application.

Best of luck,
Mili
