Subjunctive mood

by RijulN343 Fri Apr 27, 2018 3:42 pm

Can you please explain how subjunctive is constructed? I am unable to understand
subjunctive verb's time frame and when to use them.
Are there any markers?
Also, the use of would, in conditional tense and in subjunctive clause. I am getting too
much confused regarding this issue.
Additionally, do we have to focus on moods like identifying what kind it is in SC process
or keep an eye for something regarding this.

The subjunctive mood is a tricky part of English grammar. You could spend ages studying it, but you really don't need to for GMAT. We don't actually need a high level of theoretical grammatical understanding to solve GMAT problems. I would encourage you check out chapter 12 of the SC strategy guide and be familiar with two constructions: the command subjunctive (e.g. She requested that he finish the project.) and the hypothetical subjunctive (e.g If I were a rich man...). Don't spend more than 30 minutes on this.
