Hi mbaMission Consultant,
I am so happy to find this forum which helps us a lot for the application to chase our dream.
I started my first full-time Electrical Engineer career since January 2013 in a Semiconductor Chip Maker Company (market Cap between 10B~15B) until now and I plan to get admitted in part-time MBA in September 2016. Right now I am preparing for the GMAT exams trying to take this test by July 2015 and start the application on Sep 2015 1st round deadline.
Recently, a HR from a tech giant company (sorry I am not allowed to reveal the company name but it is tech giant such as Google/Apple/Amazon/IBM) approaches to me and set up interview. In the end, they gave me a good offer to start work for them with my salary increased.
However, my long-term plan is to get into a good MBA school in Sep 2016. I don't really care too much about the salary rise comparing to this long-term plan. I am just come to help whether going to a tech-giant company makes my future MBA application more attractive? Both new company (tech-giant) and my current company provide me same level of job title. Senior Electrical Engineer.
My Question is: Will a job in Tech-Giant Company helps the chance to be admitted by part-time MBA schools especially good part-time MBA schools?
Cons for moving to a new job:
(1) New Job will have a heavier work load on me and I would expect less time to prepare the GMAT preparation and I have not really yet started the preparation yet. On the contrast, my current job is less loading which will give me time and energy to prepare GMAT well.
Pros for the new job:
I am not sure whether working for a well-known famous company will help in part-time MBA application, but I feel it will be a little bit. I think both my current company and future company would like to send me to part time MBA and pay some amount of tuition if I get admitted, and both of them are flexible to relocate me to the city where the MBA school is located.
I thank you very much if there is any advice.
