Some Guidance will be greatly appreciated

by ssuryakumar89 Thu Sep 26, 2013 7:26 am

This is neither regarding profile evaluation nor University selection. I just need some guidance on my way to an MBA. I am 26 year old Indian Male working in the USA for the past 1 year. I always had an idea for doing an MBA and have started preparing for GMAT. I would like to do an MBA from top school (US or Europe doesn't matter!), not right now but in 3-4 years. Specifically I am inclined to specialize in Digital Marketing or Finance.
I would like to have some help regarding what may be put me in the right path to achieve my goal.

This is my profile till now
* B.Tech, National Institute of Technology, India - computer science - GPA 7.7/10
* Work Experience in IT for 1 year in India
* MS, Reputable State Univ in USA = computer science - GPA 3.2/4
* Work Experience in Software Industry for the past 1 year (and continuing).Right now I am leading a group of 3
* TOEFL ( though 2 years ago,think might give a general idea abt me) - Reading(30), Listening(30), Writing(25), Speaking(26) - 111/120
* GRE Verbal - 730/800 , GRE Quants - 800/800 GRE Essays - 4.5/6
* I took a mock GMAT recently and scored 680.

How can I further improve my profile/preparations. Any kind of help would be very welcome. Thank you very much.

Hi there,

Well it certainly sounds like you are on the right track in terms of demonstrating your quantitative and technical skills, and the international experience is a big plus.

What I'd say you could/should focus on would be the 'people' side of things-- people management, communication & presentation skills, leadership, teamwork, influencing others. And see where you can go above and beyond what is expected of you in your roles in the coming years, and see what impact you can make.

Hope that helps and good luck to you!

You have various options, you could also look for further studies for various specializations on the basis of your interest. Also on the check of your GMAT you could easily look for some further education.
Check out Amity university for more details.
