Should I retake the GMAT? (710 49Q 38V)

by a.narula06 Sun Mar 04, 2012 7:20 pm

I am trying to decide whether I should retake the exam with a 710 score if I am looking to get into Harvard, Stanford etc. I had a 3.61 from MSU as an undergrad in Finance. I feel like this is a good score but not good enough considering the school I am looking to get into. The average for top programs appears to be around 710 but I im capable of a 740-750. Is there any value in me taking this again to obtain those scores or am I wasting time here?

Hi! A 710 is a strong score, and you can get into top-tier school with that. AdComs at those schools look at applicants holistically
- they want to see strong professional experiences where real accomplishments and leadership potential are highlighted, a solid roster of outside activities and superb letters of recommendations. You might want to consider your entire application as you assess your candidacy.

Best of Luck,

No do not retake the GMAT you would be wasting your time. A better score will do nothing to get you in. Focus on the rest of your application your score is terrific. Good luck
