Sentence Correction Questions (OG 10)

The correct answer according to OG is A. However, I thought you are not suppose to use "like" when you compare two noun phrases. "Like" is used to compare nouns only. can you please clarify why the correct answer is A instead of E?
Thanks!

Please make sure to read (and follow!) forum guidelines when posting - it's against copyright rules to post OG questions online. (I know lots of people / websites do, but we don't allow it here because it is actually illegal.)

And argh! I was going to answer your question but I deleted the question too fast and now I can't remember what it said. I'm trying to find it online.

Was it the Jackie Robinson / Rosa Parks problem?

If so, the problem compares courage to courage - those are nouns.

Robinson's courage was not unlike that (courage) of Rosa Parks.
