i want to ask that it is not given in question that x and y are +ve integer , then why din't we considered positive/Negative scenorios??

Upon setting foot in the Gothic Cathedral, the camera-wielding tourists were amazed by the spectacular stained-glass window.

will this be correct??
Gerund is modifying tourist now rather than windows

The presence of comma+but starts a new clause and in choice E there is no subject in but clause. and still E is correct (we can not question GMATPREP)

Can you please explain the concept behind this
