Scored 510 in CAT-1

by priyankmajeji Sun Sep 28, 2014 11:56 pm

Hi,
Two times I have completed the Manhattan strategy guide and official guide. yesterday I gave CAT-1, my final score was 510 ( Q-37 and V-23).
Should I give the other CATs or revise the Manhattan guides& OG?
I want to cross 700, please advice.

Regards

Given all of the studying that you have done already, there's a good chance that your raw skills are better than your score shows. One of the things you also have to learn is just how to take this test in the first place. :)

First, read these two articles:
https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/inde ... lly-tests/
http://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/index ... -the-gmat/

Then, use the below to analyze your CAT (this should take you a minimum of 1 hour):
http://tinyurl.com/analyzeyourcats

Based on all of that, figure out your strengths and weaknesses as well as any ideas you have for what you think you should do (and what you think you need to do differently). Then come back here and tell us; we'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)

Hi,

Thanks for your valuable reply.
I understood from CAT-1 review that questions with the difficulty level 500-600 and 600-700 are mostly wrong .

I think time is a reason, I practiced from Manhattan guide & OG and was able to rightly answer the difficult questions too, but here the major factor running in my mind was time.

Request your views.

If you are having timing issues (and most people are!), first re-read the What the GMAT Really Tests article that I linked in my last post. Read it every day for the next two weeks, until you have changed your mindset towards the test. :)

Then, read these and do what they say:
