Thank you for your email.
If you have a GMAT score that is significantly lower than the average for your target school, you really need to make up for the low score with phenomenal achievement elsewhere in your profile. We have occasionally helped candidates with sub-600 scores get into top-schools, but they have overwhelmed the admissions committees and have sent the message - "Look at this record! You must ignore this one aberration... my GMAT!" Unfortunately, I don’t think that you meet this standard. I think that these schools will be a big stretch for you.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Shinewald

590 GMAT Wrote:3.4 GPA, Majored in Accounting
3 years experience at an i-bank, performing middle office tasks such as pricing and PnL reconciliations.
I know the 590 GMAT score is not great.
Am I competitive for schools in the east coast such as NYU, Cornell, UMich? Or would I have to shoot for a lower ranking school?
Thanks,
JT
