Firstly,between different from and different than different from is preferred.
"Different from" is the correct idiom.
So, B,D and E are out.
Furthermore, between A & C,
"for which they were built and for which their crews were trained over the last forty years"...Look for Parallelism.... Thus A is the best choice. Also "engage increasingly" should have been replaced with " increasingly engage" in C.
